I kind of figured this was coming after W (our HK author) told me the updates for HK were slow and literally non-existent, but I didn’t actually think it’d happen.
According to one of our forum members, Celestic, it appears Hong Kong may of met it’s demise.

There are things that they will lose and can keep after applying.
Things they can keep:
-GASH items they have will be exchanged for TW GASH
-Any unlocked characters already on their account
-Any GASH necklaces, anklets, pets, and missions
-Their IGN will also be transferred and if their is a repeat, the players will get a nickname change card
Things they cant keep:
-Any GP item
-Any HK event items
-Their couple
-Guilds
-Ranks
They are also giving out items to players who apply witch include:
-Accessories that only HKGC players will have.
-Runes
-Gems (50)
-Reinforcement boosters 15% (3)
-Queens Jewel (7days)
-4 monster cards
-Cash couples ring (Gold)
-Free dungeon pass (7days)
-The pet elephant
I would like to see what you guys out there think of this.”
I too, would like to know what the community thinks of the downfall of HK (I’m guessing it’s from a lack of revenue). I personally don’t think the decision would be turned, because every company wants their game to bring in profit.

I never really thought two chinese speaking servers were necessary. I mean, I know Taiwan and China are separate countries, but they’re side to side still.. It shouldn’t change much now.

Well at least it wasn’t like GCSEA, where they just, shall we say, “killed off” their players.
I really don’t know what to say, though.
Did they have a sharp decline in their server population? I thought HK was one of the more active servers? Heck NAGC and GCPH only have one server full at any given time and they’re still thriving.
I hope HK players or those familiar will share their thoughts here. I would really like to know what the whole story is.
True, SEA doesn’t allow any transfers of any sort, just free cash to buy GC cash items with and another month of game time. HKGC and TWGC uses simplified chinese and traditional chinese respectively.
Both used to have updates close to each other.
I am guessing that both under Gamania is the reason that they can get two different hosts to transfer player data for migration. ( they sort of have more than one host )
First, HK sever wan’t a active sever. The most that HK sever could have recently is like around half? And it would be only 1/2 lights(is that call light?) after midnight now. Back to the first two years, the HK sever was almost full but only 7millions people live in HK. HK sever maintained at least half sever for most of the time(not after midnight or even about 11p.m.). But it kept decreasing since then. (Some S1 players also quiuted when HKGC turned into S2.)
Second, both of Hong Kong and Taiwan use Traditional Chinese. How about Simplified Chinese? The one who uses Simplified Chinese is mainland China (Hong Kong and Macau excluded). Besides, Hong Kong and Taiwan speaks Chinese Cantonese and Mandarin respectively. (Chinese Cantonese is a dialect.)

Third, Hong Kong and Macau exclded from mainland China. Hong Kong is not a country, but a Special Administrative Region. There was a version of mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Yet, CNGC shut down 2-3 years ago(?)(I didn’t remember when they shut CNGC down.) HKGC shut down because of the decline of HKGC. Some of the reasons are the population of Hong Kong and GC is not popular in Hong Kong. Moreover, Hong Kong is CAPITALISM and one of the world’s leading international financial centres. Don’t talk about it if u do not really know about it. And there are only a few mainland players remaine(maybe a hundred? or less than it.) You can read this to improve ur knowledge.
At last, I came from Hong Kong and I am not good at English. I would make some simple grammar mistake. I play HKGC and also NAGC but not now.

I found it stupid that two neighboring countries needed separate version of Grand Chase, to me, this is actually necessary for united peace.

Hope NAGC never goes down. And Taiwan is Part of China, but Taiwan is not part of People’s republic of China, its just Republic of China. Both of them should just get along. What if there is a “cyberwar” between the two country players? What if there is a guild called “Mainland”, and a guild called “Taiwan”?
Yeah, I really hope NAGC doesn’t die. I’m starting to enjoy this game again especially with Mari who’s become my primary character now. And, I’m looking forward to seeing Mari’s Polaris get released stateside and hopefully her Skill Tree and 4th Job in the (near) future.

Many of you think that it is unnecessary for two neighboring countries to have separate versions of GC but are you the ones playing HK or TW GC? HKGC players have worked really hard on their accounts just like many of us had. They are human, they have feelings. They have memories of the game, good or bad, especially for those players that have been their for years and kept playing. All their hard work, not only for those events, but also the ones that worked hard to be a better player have been wasted. All their precious armor, weapons, accessories they had worked hard to hunt for would be gone.
For TWGC, think about what could/would happen when all the players from HK migrate over? TWGC could have a increase in LAG. Which nobody wants. They play from two separate GC servers which can lead to many disagreements. What DaNoHeX said is 90% true. It will be hard for TW players to get along with HK players. Think about it this way, if players from the same country can’t get along well, there is only a slim chance they will get along. I’m not saying it s not possible. It will have to depend on their personality. The two servers have many player, which also means that Guild names and IGNs can/will be the same. The HK players are the one that needs to change, not the TW players. HK players will lose friends along the way. The HK players also wont have the event stuff from which the TW players have.
One good thing is that HK players will finally get the chance to experience Season 3 and all the other jobs, but, I have seen HK players say they would rather NOT have Season 3.
Think about when GCSEA closed down and they had to migrate over to NA. Many people complained about lag and such. HKGC’s migrate may seem not as bad as GCSEA’s as they get stuff and lose stuff while the SEA players didn’t get anything but you can never know until the future.
Whatever happens in the future, I wished the HK and the TW players the best of luck with whats about to happen.

Though not having the GP stuff kinda sucks, are RARE items taken from hunt still considered GP? I’d cry over my +9 wind necklace set, and then probably just quit and find something else.

Please… Why on earth would NAGC get shut down? There are only two ‘english’ servers, NA, and PH.

Even if GCPH is behind NAGC I still don’t think that it will be shot…
it’s not the amount of updates that determines whether or not a sever gets shut down, it’s the amount of revenue. If the revenue from naGC starts to become unsatisfactory we CAN get shut down.
However, updates have to be purchased from KOG, so a lack of updates is a sign that something is going wrong.

Well, first of all, thanks for the update. It reminded me of the time when GrandChaseSEA was shut down…at least they get to keep all their levels and stuff. We GrandChaseSEA players (especially the close beta batch), had everything wiped from us.
I still remember Excalibur, the 14 year old kid (back then) who spent hundreds of dollars on the game, which includes a +20 Holy Rune for his Arme (from one of $$$oft’s self-proclaimed “non-profitable auctions.)
I also remembered the war of words we had with some of the guys from GetAmpedSEA…guess what? Their game got closed as well. Heh. Didn’t even know that till one of my old guild mates told me about it. Serves them right.
The HK players get a unlimited avatar set in Elsword? What!? Cheer up HK guys…at least you had it better than us.
i believe it said they get to keep their characters, not necessarily levels.

in the odd chance that we NAGC does get the plug pulled, i hope ntreev at least tries to do the same for us. the logical choice would be to merge us with GCPH, since it’s another english speaking server. The reasonable choice i would have to say would be merging us the BRGC. It would satisfy the players in that they don’t have to wait ages for their main character to get updated to the point it was in NA (i.e the mari and sieghart mains) and the fact that brazil is much closer to north america than the phillipines) if there is too much conflict they can just make a new server called NA or something. I mean they already have like 7, and we only took up one anyway.

That’s because INGC started when most Grand Chases already had Seighart. Seighart is a starter in KGC, and unlockable elsewhere.
Besides, Lass *should* be the first unlockable everywhere, if that’s your logic. Ronan was first in NAGC. Nothing’s stopping Seighart from being before Lass, especially as his mission can more or less be whatever the owner of that GC wants it to be, as Korea has no mission.
INGC also has no-one else, except Lass.
Seighart’s nothing special either, stop Q-Q’ing, he’s just a noob-magnetizing more powerful Elesis clone… just look at the decline of Ronan use in NAGC since his arrival <_<

So, as most places get Seig after Asura, you’ll get Seighart [Or the first batch of Skill Trees, which are actually late 0_o] next.
As Allosawyou has said, GCPH probably will get either Sieghart or the Skill Trees.(updated for the 2nd jobs? As of what I know, the ones sold on the shop are the first jobs. So it’s probably that we get the 1st job skill tree for the rest.) Hope Mari won’t take long afterwards… :]
